The Bell L Brand

Posted by Wyatt

It was 1909 when it all started. I believe Great Great Grandpa Louis Hanson knew that this was something he could pass forward to future generations. In 1909 Louis Hanson applied for and registered the "Bell L" Brand. It was said that he only wanted to make the trip to the post office once so he had a long list of alternatives. And now five generations later we are still proudly  branding with the "Bell L" and showing Purebred Hereford and Hereford Influence cattle as well as the horses we brake  with the brand on their left hip and this year I tried freeze branding the left shoulder! I have great pride going places and having the "Bell L" on my animals!
Below is a video of my Great Grandpa Gene describing the creation of the brand

I like the backdrop for your blog - what could be more fitting than jeans. Your article regarding the election was thought-provoking. I look forward to more articles on the challenges of agriculture.
